On July 7th, 2016, a peaceful Black Lives Matter-organized protest was concluding when shots rang out in Dallas. Mayhem ensued and by night’s end, nine members of Dallas law enforcement were injured and five lost their lives.
Within a few days, Dallas business owners and community leaders united to fundraise for the police officers and their families. Dos Jefes, tapas bar, hosted “Dine for Dallas Blue” and all of the proceeds of the dinner and silent auction they put on were given to the fallen and injured officers and their loved ones.
Tony Polendo, General Manager of Calverley Service Experts in Fort Worth, was more than honored to join the cause.
“I was out for my birthday dinner less than a mile away from the terrible events of that evening,” Polendo remembered. “That night really struck home for me. As a military veteran, I have the utmost respect for any person who wears a uniform in an effort to protect and serve their community.”
“When my associate reached out to see if we would support this charity event by merely attending, I wanted to go beyond and not only attend, but contribute our time and effort as well.”
Tony and the Calverley Service Experts team collaborated with Lennox to auction off a new heating and cooling system with complimentary installation at the Dine for Dallas Blue event. Check out the pictures below of the installation.
“I am both grateful and appreciative for the chance to have participated in such a incredible event,” Polendo said.
From your friends and family at Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning, we are truly sorry for the loss of the Dallas Police Department and for the relatives of Lorne Ahrens, Michael Krol, Michael J. Smith, Brent Thompson, and Patrick Zamarripa.
